Concept Overview
Romney is an intimate and emotional Civil War drama that follows the lives of the Clay family, a
deeply religious and tight-knit family whose bonds are strained and tested by the war. Set in
Romney, Virginia, this series explores the individual journeys of each family member as they
navigate love, loss, duty, faith, and survival in a divided nation.
Each episode focuses on a specific character from the Clay family, allowing the audience to dive
into their thoughts, emotions, and experiences through narration by the character themselves.
The show explores themes of love, loss, duty, faith, and survival. Through intimate character
development, Romney brings to life a family trying to hold onto their faith and each other as the
war threatens to tear them apart.

Series Synopsis
The story revolves around the Clay family—Reverend Samuel, Sarah, John, Elsie, and
Nathan—who live in the small town of Romney, Virginia. As war breaks out, each member of
the family faces their own internal and external battles. Through their individual episodes, we
learn how they lean on faith, and how they strive to survive in a rapidly changing world. The
series presents a narrative where each episode is seen through the eyes of a different
character, allowing viewers to understand the war and its impact from multiple perspectives. The
show not only focuses on the physical battles but also on the emotional and spiritual conflicts
that arise during such a turbulent time.

TBD | Currently in pre-production, we are actively securing locations and finalizing the script, with plans to film our pilot in the historic town of Castroville, Texas, known for its 1800s charm, the perfect backdrop for our 1860s Virginia setting.
